Cosmic Futures

Volunteer

Help build the program. Don’t skip the safety steps.

Early volunteers make Cosmic Futures ready. Direct work with young people starts only after background checks, supervision, and a safeguarding policy are in place.

If your hope is to be alone in a room with a young person, this is not that invitation. That door stays shut until the organization can supervise it.

Useful right now

Professional skill

Headshots, printing, bookkeeping, design, legal formatting, or a workshop outline you can teach later under supervision.

Things a cohort needs

A room, a meal, transit support, laptops, clothing, backpacks. Concrete, dated, and delivered.

Adult networks

Tell employers, congregations, and neighborhood groups that a Clark County program is forming. Do not cold-contact young people.

Later, with rules

  • Workshop facilitation, after training and safeguarding are adopted.
  • Mentoring, only inside a supervised structure. Not informal DMs.
  • Job shadowing hosted by an employer partner, with the rules written down first.

Volunteer interest

Tell us what you can actually do.

Be specific. “I care about kids” is kind and not yet a role. A Tuesday, a skill, or a van is a role.
